Warrant Squad Arrests First Degree Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Monday of Ramon Ruano on a First Degree Assault warrant obtained by County Police, District I detectives on June 2, 2012.

According to the warrant, on May 21, 2012, in the 7900 block of 14th Avenue in Hyattsville, MD, Ruano’s vehicle struck another vehicle causing a traffic collision in which he refused to stop. When both vehicles did eventually stop, at 14^th Avenue and University Boulevard, a physical altercation ensued between parties of both vehicles in which Ruano is alleged to have hit another male –not indicated as the other driver - with a baseball bat.

Deputies investigating Ruano’s whereabouts were led to the 7000 block of 23^rdAvenue in Hyattsville, MD where Ruano was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Correctional Center where he is being held. District I detectives were notified of the arrest.

In addition to First Degree Assault, Ruano is also charged with three counts of Second Degree Assault.
